New Delhi, July 25, 2025 – On the fifth day of the Monsoon Session, both Houses of Parliament remained effectively stalled, with no legislative business conducted due to relentless opposition protests over the recent developments in Jammu and Kashmir and the classified Operation Sindoor.
Despite several attempts by the Chair to restore order, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned multiple times, as opposition members raised slogans and demanded immediate discussion on the attack in Pahalgam and transparency over Operation Sindoor. The government, while reaffirming its commitment to national security, declined to disclose classified details, citing operational sensitivity.

🔹 What Happened Today:
No bills were introduced or discussed in either House.
- The Opposition insisted on suspending all scheduled business to prioritize a full debate on security concerns.
- Government sources confirmed that a dedicated session for debating Operation Sindoor has been tentatively planned for early next week.
- Parliamentary Affairs Minister stated that “security operations must not be politicized”, further intensifying the standoff.
Meanwhile, key legislative items including the Higher Education Commission Bill, Telecom Services Bill, and amendments to GST procedures have now been delayed.
With political temperatures rising, both the government and opposition are being urged by parliamentary experts to find common ground to ensure that the remaining days of the session are not lost to procedural deadlock.
